Our Story

My birth name is Zacchaeus Jon Butler. Zacchaeus is a character in the Bible, and his story is found in Luke chapter 19. There is a nursery rhythm that goes in part like this..

Zacchaeus was a wee-little man a wee-little man was he, he climbed up in that sycamore tree,  for the Lord he wanted to see…

I was named Zacchaeus because of the complications I caused my mother during pregnancy, and the complications wouldn’t stop after being born. Like Zacchaeus, the first 22 years of my life were marked by selfish desires and gain, not caring about those who I damaged along the way. If you read Zacchaeus’s story, you’ll find him climbing up in a sycamore tree (because he was short) so that he could see Jesus over the crowds. Upon seeing Zacchaeus in the sycamore tree Jesus calls him down and spends the day at Zacchaeus’s house. That encounter with Jesus changed the very nature of Zacchaeus from that day forward. I too had an encounter with Jesus in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee that would change my life forever. Jesus called me out of my old life and invited me to live out my new identity and purpose, “shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.” -1 Peter 5:2-3. Wee-Little WoodWorks is more than just a company name for me and my family, its my story, my testimony of how God changed my life.
